Scott L. McLarty

Independent Consultant

Scott is an educator with sixteen years of experience as a teacher, coach, moderator, mentor, Director of Admissions, Head of School, and Trustee. He is passionate about transforming schools to better inspire students, maximize their agency, and meet their needs in a rapidly changing world. He is committed to a vision of education as joyful, relevant, preparatory for life and work, and productive of social good.

Scott grew up in the Los Angeles area and attended Loyola University Chicago (LUC) after graduating from Loyola High School of Los Angeles. He began teaching full time during graduate studies at LUC and will always see himself as a teacher before all else. He has experience in both Catholic and Independent schools and is currently working on his EdD at the University of San Francisco. Scott has implemented learner-centered pedagogies both in his own classroom and institutionally and knows the critical importance of informed, engaged, nimble, and generative boards and administrative teams.

Dan Meyers

Independent Consultant

Dan is an educator with seventeen years of experience as a teacher, coach, moderator, mentor, program director, and Assistant Head of School. He believes that because teaching learning is relational that all good work must be built on a strong foundation of trust. Dan brings extensive experience working with and in public, independent, and Catholic school settings.

Having grown up the son of an educator (also the nephew of three educators), Dan always valued the power of the student-teacher relationship. He felt a call to the classroom after completing his BA in History at the University of California at Santa Barbara and returned to the his alma mater. In the intervening years Dan has been a teacher of US History, Speech, and Debate. He went back to school to earn his MA in Educational Leadership at Santa Clara University and has been putting that work to use as a school leader.
